Team360 spent the week out in Salt Lake City at the annual DOMO'Palooza conference. If you've never attended, this is by far the most insightful conference we've ever attended. A fantastic team from top to bottom who really care about their customers' success. The theme was Agentic AI data solutions, right up our alley with year-ahead predictive weather and sales analytics. We'll share our session with DOMO CEO Josh James on YouTube. CLICK ON IMAGES FOR A LARGER VIEW.

The theme year-t0-date (1 Jan - 21 Mar 2025) across the U.S. has been the coolest in 3 years, snowier vs last year and the driest in 16 years. A big change from last year's warmest in 10 years, wettest in 26 years at this point in the year.

The drier pattern has resulted in many wildfires flaring up in the Northeast, Southeast and South Central U.S. This week the threat areas are in the Southern Plains and Middle Atlantic.

With the big severe weather outbreak last week, tornadoes and wind cases are now the most in 8 years while hail is still trending less than last year. A lull in the severe weather is likely for the later half of March with a warmer/drier pattern. Southeast still the higher risk area from East Texas to Tennessee.

Last week (16-22 Marcth) across the World shows the U.S. trending +2.3F warmer than last year, warmest in 3 years and 9th warmest of the past 40 years for the U.S. overall. Rainfall +33% vs last year, most in 3 years but still 18th driest of the past 40 years, while snowfall is down -33% vs LY, least in 3 years and 14th least of the past 30 years. These are generally favorable conditions for Spring seasonal merchandise sales. The negative is the impact of high heating bills leading to lower discretionary spending.

Canada was the wettest in 18 years, while China was the driest in over 40 years. Colder trends across Europe.

This week (23-29 March) was the Easter week prior a year ago. Unfortunate that we're losing the holiday to middle April this year, as conditions would have been very favorable for the holiday sales. The U.S. overall trends a very significant +9.4F warmer than last year, warmest in 13 years and 4th warmest of the past 40 years. Rainfall is down -26% vs last year, least in 3 years but still 19th wettest of the past 40 years, while snowfall is down -75% vs last year's very snowy week. Last year this was a very cold, wet snowy week for Easter.

The 6-day snowfall outlook (22-27 March) trends -81% less than a year ago, least in 4 years and 13th least of the past 40 years with 20% of the U.S. getting some snow. The Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, New England and the higher terrain of the West are the snowier spots.

Next week (30 Mar - 5 Apr) shows the heart of the warmth in the Plains with the East Coast and West Coast the relatively cooler spots. The U.S. overall trends +2.9% warmer than last year, warmest in 4 years and 8th warmest of the past 40 years. Rainfall is down -32% vs last year, least in 4 years and 20th driest of the past 40 years. Snowfall is also down -22% vs last year, least in 3 years and 20th least in 40 years. These are again favorable trends for early Spring merchandise sales, but some softness along the coasts with most of the heat in the Central U.S.

The World 2-week Temperature outlook (23 Mar - 5 Apr) shows the heart of the very warmer weather in the Central U.S., Eastern Europe and Eastern China. This time of year, warmer/drier weather is the most ideal conditions for Spring sales.

The World 2-week Precipitation outlook (23 Mar - 5 Apr) shows the wettest conditions in the Southeast U.S. and very dry in the Southwest U.S. - an area of increased fire risk. It remains snowy across Canada.
