5 Sept '26: Happy Saturday! :)

It's been over a year in the making, but the NEW weathertrends360 app for iPhone and Android is LIVE in the app stores! iPhone Android Learn more by visiting the Sunny web page.

LOG 1

We hope that "Sunny"™ becomes your new favorite AI weather companion to not only answer questions about the weather across every mile on Earth (32 million locations) but also provide intel on how 220 seasonal category sales will perform up to a year ahead, 360 weather sensitive equity indices and 3 weather sensitive disease indexes for Allergy, Asthma and Flu. All year-ahead to help with PROACTIVE not REACTIVE planning. And did we mention he understands over 100 languages! CLICK ON IMAGES FOR A LARGER VIEW.

LOG 2

Let's ask Sunny about March 2027 next year and that will help or hurt some equities. Our March 2027 outlook shows a somewhat classic weakening Strong El Nino pattern with the coolest conditions in 8 years, snowiest in 4 years and wettest in 3 years...if you think that's bad for seasonal sales and outdoor merchandise - you're right!

LOG4

Not to pick on any particular equity, as many retailers will be challenged with this wet 9-month cycle, but our Home Depot equity index is very unfavorable with the worst index value in 14 years (-5.5) for March next year.

LOG 3

Sunny takes our Fortune 500 client deliverables that offer much more detailed reports, seasonal sales forecasts, Equity reports and year-ahead data solutions and provides a snip it summary of that intel for anyone via the app. Since Sunny understands over 100 languages (thank you big AI LLM firms aka Amazon Bedrock) there is a very small fee to keep him powered to answer more questions important to you, and for $19.95/year Sunny will answer 360 long range questions important to you.

LOG6

A big THANK YOU to our app development team here at wt360 to include Matt, Dom, Zach, Jerl, Rich and Evan. And the rest of Team360 was instrumental in doing our best to find the bugs...now it's your turn to help us fix any pesky bugs. If you love the app now, wait till you see what's coming next with many enhancements already in the works and coming soon.

LOG7

For audits on our year-ahead forecast accuracy, check out this white paper from two PhD Climate Science academics showing how our year-ahead forecasts dramatically outperform NOAA's month ahead forecast 82% of the time for temperatures and 84% on precipitation over the past 19 years.

LOG5

Now back to the weather, let's look at how the warmest Winter down under in Australia helped to create a non-existent FLU season! They've had two bad Type A flu seasons in the past couple years with colder weather, but now the warmest Winter in 10 years (Jun - Aug 2026) resulted in a whopping -79% decline in cases vs last year and the least in 5 years. The good news, this is a bellwether prediction for our U.S. Flu season ahead - slow start and late minimal peak in February.

LOG9

The current El Niño is quickly peaking in the near record territory which has brought 6 hurricanes to the Central and Eastern Pacific and 0 in the Atlantic.

LOG10

All of the hurricane indices are way up in the Pacific and way down in the Atlantic Basin.

LOG8

And now a CAT 5 Major Hurricane Lowell will bring a near miss scare to Kauai Hawaii early this week. Kauai will be on the right strong side of the hurricane, but hopefully far enough away for just large waves on the South facing beaches.

LOG11

Last week (30 Aug - 5 Sep) across the World shows the U.S. trending +7.4F warmer than last year and #1 warmest in 41 years. Hot 90F days up +120% vs LY and also the #1 most in over 41 years, while rainfall was up +42% vs LY, wettest in 5 years and 19th wettest in 41 years. These are VERY UNFAVORABLE trends for Back2School and early Fall apparel sales. One big thing that proves the World has transitioned from La Niña (cold Equatorial Pacific Ocean temps) to El Niño (warm Equatorial Pacific Ocean temps) is the HUGE surge in wet weather and flooding in so many areas globally. Sadly, this will become a very destructive flood cycle for at least the next 9 months.

LOG12

This week (6-12 Sep) across the U.S. (start of Meteorological Fall which runs from September to November) shows national temperatures +3.7F warmer than last year, warmest in 3 years and 2nd warmest in 41 years. Recall our Power of 1 Degree technology that predicts hundreds of seasonal sales show every 1F warmer hurts Fall apparel by 5% so that's a 19% decline in apparel sales vs last year. The hot 90F days also up +76%, while rainfall up +61% vs LY but still below average. This time of year, colder and wetter weather drives seasonal merchandise sales, so the Northeast and Northwest are the slightly more favorable areas.

LOG13

Next week (13-19 Sep) across the U.S. shows some moderation with national temperatures +0.8F warmer than LY, but still 3rd warmest in 41 years. Hot 90F days down -1% while rainfall makes a big uptick +141% vs LY, most in 8 years and 6th most in 41 years. This is historically the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, running out of time to get a hurricane that can boost Home Center and emergency supply sales.

LOG14

The 2-week Global Temperature Outlook (6-19 Sep) shows some cooler trends for the NW U.S., Western Central Canada, Eastern Europe and Southeast China.

LOG15

The 2-week Global Precipitation Outlook (6-19 Sep) again shows the World precipitation index trending the #1 wettest in over 41 years. Very wet across Canada, the Southwest U.S., Central and Eastern Europe, Southern Brazil and Africa.
